Inauguration of the GeneXpert machine

The K. J. Somaiya Medical College and Hospital take great pleasure to announce the acquisition of the GeneXpert machine, a landmark in diagnosis of tuberculosis which helps to achieve results within 2 hours. This is a molecular tuberculosis test that detects the tuberculosis DNA and the genetic mutations associated with the resistance to the drug Rifampicin. This test will help to screen patients faster and initiation of prompt treatment to the needy.
