The specialty of Pathology is a diagnostic specialty with many subdivisions. It is concerned with detecting changes at the tissue and cellular level occurring in various diseases thereby assisting clinicians in arriving at a final diagnosis.

We at the K. J. Somaiya Hospital offer a wide range of diagnostic pathology tests ranging from hematology to tumor pathology. We have been providing this care and support 24/7 since the last 25 years with values of integrity, accuracy and empathy.

Our laboratory is equipped with modern technology and automation and we strive to achieve the highest standards of quality. Our lab has achieved an excellent rating from the ‘Hematology External Quality Assurance Program of AIIMS, New Delhi’ & ‘Cytology External Quality Assurance Program of Tata Memorial Hospital., Mumbai.’

Special Features

Tests under the following categories are performed for the patients of K. J. Somaiya Hospital, for outside patients and for patients examined at various camps conducted by the K J Somaiya Hospital.

• Haematology
• Clinical Pathology- urine, body fluids etc.
• Histopathology- neoplastic, non-neoplastic, skin biopsies, etc.
• Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC)
• Fluid Cytology
• Pap smear reporting

 

The OPD timings are as follows

• General Hospital: 09:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.
• Super Specialty Hospital: 09:00 a.m. to 07:00 p.m.
