The Paediatric Surgery is a super speciality which offers treatment for a wide range of surgical problems in children in the age group of newborns to 12 years of age. This super speciality treats patients with congenital anomalies of Chest, Abdomen, Anorectal, Genitourinary amongst others and also treats Paediatric Urology, Paediatric Gastrointestinal Surgeries, Paediatric Hepatobiliary Surgeries, Paediatric Onco-surgeries, Paediatric Thoracic surgeries, surgeries for ambiguous genitalia & various acquired conditions.

The service under this speciality is offered at K.J. Somaiya Hospital in the general as well as super speciality units. Patients can be treated on an OPD or IPD basis, in the Casualty department, in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (for critically ill patients) depending on their needs. In addition to the routine OPD service, several speciality OPDs like Antenatal counselling OPD, Paediatric Urology OPD and Paediatric Hepatobiliary OPD are also conducted in the hospital to provide focused care to patients suffering from these diseases.

The department is well equipped with Paediatric Laparoscopy set, Paediatric Cysto-Resectoscope, Paediatric Bronchoscope etc. and offers all types of minimal access procedures.
